      FAI Intermediate Cup

While the result in Donegal didn't go our way, our replayed game with Kildrum Tigers FC proved to be another display of character by our Senior team, which can only augur well for the future. It was disappoinmting not to qualify for the FAI Senior Cup, but it certainly was not for the want of effort or skill on our part. That a game of such importance was allowed to go ahead on such a poor, barely playable pitch, is questionable.  Kildrum will travel to Cork to play College Corinthians at the end of January in the next round, and we wish them well.

We have reached this stage, for only the second time in the club's history, thanks to two hard fought away victories over teams from higher divisions.

In the last round we played Postal Utd., where goals from Ger Robinson, Andy Farrell and Brendan Lee did the trick in a close 3-2 win.

      On
6 Oct the team secured a memorable victory over Senior Division side Glebe North in the 1st round,

The 12C1's under the guidance of Conor Moen achieved team of the week in the star newspaper after their fantastic win over Castleknock Celtic. The 12C1 table toppers produced their best performance of the season to beat their local rivals 4-1. Thomas Thortton, Hugh Ruane (son of Dunboyne AFC veteran Sean) and Callum Boyle sent their side three in at the break. Rory Keenan blasted in the fourth as his side continues their impressive form.

FAI Aviva Club of the Year 2009

DUNBOYNE AFC was presented with the FAI/Aviva CLUB OF THE YEAR award for 2009 at the FAI AGM in Monaghan on Friday 3 July.

This is clearly a tribute to all of our members, both past and present. From those who had the foresight to start the club, to those who acquired and developed our facilities, to the more recent era where it is "all go" .
