1. In-House Workshops :
"I hope you will pick up some useful ideas to incorporate into your sessions that will enable your players to improve their technical skills, soccer specific speed, awareness and general outlook on the game. These workshops are for your benefit and while not compulsory, it shows me which of our coaches are serious about improving themselves and keen to learn more about the game. The majority of clubs don't have the benefits of in-house workshops so each of you should be lucky to have this at your disposal. If our club is to progress further, then we need YOU - our coaches - enthusiastic about whatever coach education is available/provided in order to improve you as coaches and to enable you to pass on these ideas/key factors to your players, which in turn should improve each of our teams and make them even more competitive in their respective divisions". (Alan Kelly, Head Coach)
Monday nights 9.00-10.15 at club's all-weather facility (topics subject to change)
2. Easter Programme :
Apr 16th, May 7th, May 14th
3. FAI Training Courses :
KS1/KS2/YC 2011
Workshops (SSG + S&C) *
I would like to thank Mark Scanlon (FAI) and all those who attended the SSG/S&C Workshops on Sun Feb 20th (10-5pm) in the Dunboyne Community Centre. The FAI tutors put on two excellent workshops which were very professional, well organised and informative.
As we are all well aware, the club possesses some of the very best playing facilities available, but we want our club to be the envy for what we do “on the pitch”.
The club's COACHING STRATEGY aspires to this goal, and is three-pronged in approach. It sets out our pathway to
(i) improve our players as players through COACH KNOWLEDGE ;
(ii) provide COACH BACK-UP, through access to assistance, education and other aids, and
(iii) ensure that the infrastructure required at (i) and (ii) above are readily available to coaches and players
This aspect of the club’s operations is the domain of the COACHING SUB-COMMITTEE.
Through the medium of this website, we will provide resources as much as possible on-line. Coaches, budding coaches and team managers should find this helpful in deriving maximum value from their time volunteered.

The club’s TECHNICAL PLAN developed by Head Coach, ALAN KELLY, is at the heart of this strategy and is proscribed reading for all adults involved with the club. It discusses coaching practices as appropriate to age and ability, and informs what we do, and how we go about it.
Scroll down to the COACHES DOWNLOAD CENTRE at the foot of this page to read "the plan".
Click here to see the updated TRAINING ROTA for the all-weather facility. It is effective from Monday 24 January 2011 until further notice.
Please note that the Head Coach MUST be informed if, for any reason, a scheduled session is not to take place.
Click here for information on the age realignment for next season. Basically nothing will change within your current teams and all teams are just stepping up an age group to come in line with UEFA. The age groups are not changing back to August 1st and players will continue to be grouped according to the calendar year of their birth.
Feb 2011: Please remember that all children are affected ie every child playing under 10 in this current season will move to play in the under 12 divisions next season. No one will be playing against different age groups. In reality it is just the naming of the age groups is altering.
There are still some decisions which need to be made ie Ball Size, whether u15 will play on Saturday to permit the u16, u17, u18 and u19 teams to play on Sunday and a few other minor items. Discussions will be ongoing.

Details of what’s coming up in terms of formal coaching courses and workshops, both in-house and outside the club, will be advertised on this page.
By joining the website, coaches will be alerted to updates to the calendar as they occur.

"SoccerTots" is a soccer nursery catering for boys and girls born in either 2003, 2004 or 2005. Under the watchful eye of SEAN MURPHY and his "Coaching Crew", the players enjoy a series of varied games and routines.
Instead of entering teams into formal leagues, we feel it is much more beneficial to let them learn the game locally, and in a "fun" atmosphere.
This also has the advantage of eliminating all the hassle of travelling every other week, and only getting bits of games.
"SoccerTots" caters for boys and girls equally.
Since we have opened our own state-of-the-art training facility, we have always taken the view that our members come first, and the young players who enrol for SoccerTots will be the players of tomorrow.
SoccerTots for the current season is now up and running. Parents who would like their boys and/or girls to take up the "beatuiful game" are welcome any Saturday morning.
"SoccerTots" takes place every SATURDAY morning in two sessions, 10.00-11.20 and 11.30-1.00 on the All-weather pitch at our grounds on the Summerhill Road.
