Pitch - Site Advertising
DUNBOYNE AFC has recently opened its new "Main Pitch", which is fully enclosed within the club's grounds at the Theatre of Dreams on the Summerhill Road.
With many top games each week being played at this new facility, an excellent opportunity offers itself to business and services of all shapes and sizes to advertise to a large market.
Typically DUNBOYNE AFC will host more than 15 fixtures each week during the traditional football season (i.e. end August to end May), as well as our SoccerTots nursery on Saturday mornings. In addition, training sessions are held every week-night involving up to 200 people.
Conservatively, attendance at our ground amounts to :-
-
700-800 persons for games every weekend, AND
-
our 600+ members at training sessions on week-days, Monday to Friday, virtually all-year round.

HERE COME THE GIRLS!! The FAI sponsored by Aviva are delighted to have held Soccer Sister Easter camps at three Meath venues. The camps were open to girls aged 7-12 years of age with the aim of increasing the number of girls playing soccer.
As a nationwide program the aim of the camp is to improve skills in a structured
and a safe coaching environment. As the camps are girls only, it will give the
participants an opportunity to participate amongst their peers. FAI Development
Officers have also linked the camps to local clubs to ensure sustainability for girls wishing to continue their soccer education.
Mark Scanlon (left) said:
“This is the first year of the Soccer Sisters Easter camps and it gives girls a great chance to get a week of enjoyable fun games and coaching from FAI qualified coaches. We are looking to increase the number of girls teams in the county and this will be a great way for girls to make contact with their local clubs.”
What the camps involved :
- Daily 10.00 to 13.00, Mon 6th to Thurs 9th April inclusive.
- Qualified coaches.
- Fun approach to football.
- Encourage new players to soccer.
- Soccer Sister Kit and water bottle to all participants
- Cost just €60.
KICK-A-THONGerry and Eugene would like to thank all those who participated in our Annual “Kick-a-Thon” in early January. This was a very enjoyable day for all involved and we cannot thank the young lads and lassies enough for taking part and raising much-needed funds for Dunboyne AFC. Socks and vouchers will be made available as soon as possible for those who qualified for them through their fundraising efforts. We are expecting a few more sponsorship cards (to be delivered to team managers or dropped into 42 Larchfield) and we will then be holding the draw to find the three winners, of a pair of tickets each, to see Rep. of Ireland host either Georgia or Bulgaria in Croke Park. The results will be posted here and the winners will be notified. This year we purposely held the event on two different days to try to facilitate everybody who wanted to take part. While the overall event was a success, we were a little bit disappointed with the turnout but, hopefully, next year more people will support this fundraiser which is badly needed to help pay for all the major work that was carried out on the grounds and the car park during the summer. When we've put a hole in that debt, perhaps we can then look to turning our dressing-rooms into a more substantial clubhouse. The greater the help we get with these events, the sooner we can achieve that. We can't do it without your help and, as they say, every little helps. We were as pleased with the sponsorship card with €7.00 (his name escapes us) as we were with the highest card containing €226.21 (take a well-deserved bow Colm Dowling, U-10B1). It's the effort on behalf of your club that counts. As stated, it was a great day for the children who took part and any of the children we spoke to really enjoyed the football and the craic. We also had some Mammies who took part and they had great fun. It was agreed by everyone that Sharon Mulvey would have no problem getting a place on the Ladies International Team as goalkeeper!!The Daddies and coaches also took part and we had a great mix of people from coaches, solicitors, barristers and the organisers. Gerry Mulvey was brilliant in goals for the first half, and there was great outfield play fromConor Bowman, Niall Black, Paul O'Dwyer, Colm Buckley, and John McCann to mention just a few. “Twinkle toes” Mulvey came outfield for the second half, seeking revenge for the two goals he conceded to Eugene Dowling and duly obliged with a brace of his own, much to the annoyance of Eugene who had sought a breather between the posts (give up yer aul' fags, Eugene). The Under 13’s finished off the day for us and we all went home tired but reasonably happy with the day's work!!! However, it's not only the work on the day that goes into this fund-raiser. It's the production, the posting and the hand-delivery of well over 300 sponsorship cards, the counting of the notes and the 'fiddlers', etc., etc. Perhaps the time of year doesn't suit everyone. We will look towards holding another Kick-a-Thon maybe near the end of the season to enable those who slipped through the net this time, to make up for it and help us to add to our wonderful facilities on the Summerhill Road. Finally many thanks to all who took part, especially the young mentors from the tots group, ably led by James Hannigan, Sean Henry of LAS Security for supplying the goodies as usual (many thanks Sean for your continued support of the club) and Deborah O'Sullivan for organising the Community Centre for the “Kick-a-Thon”.
